Two Groups, Two Missions

Bennett Valley Community Association:

The core mission of the BVCA is to promote and preserve the rural residential character and natural environment of Bennett Valley; serve as an open forum for Bennett Valley community participation; and provide a bridge for communication between government agencies and the Bennett Valley community.

The BVCA carries out its mission through various programs and activities. Special interest areas of focus include: advocating for the Bennett Valley Area Plan (BVAP); disaster preparedness and emergency response; local land use and environmental issues; water resources support; electric utilities; and other issues as they arise in our community.

Bennett Valley Grange:

The Grange is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan, fraternal organization that advocates for rural America and agriculture. The Grange strengthens individuals, families and communities through grassroots action, service, education, advocacy and agriculture awareness.

Founded in 1867, the Grange was formed as a national organization with a local focus and its roots in agriculture. Our members are given the opportunity to learn and grow to their full potential as citizens and leaders. The Bennett Valley Grange accomplishes its local mission through programs designed to serve the unique interests of rural Bennett Valley residents. New initiatives for 2023 include: a grazing cooperative; a well and water resources committee; a gardening committee; historic preservation committee; home school and youth group, and more are developed continuously as new members bring their passions and interests to the Bennett Valley community through our Grange.

The Bennett Valley Grange Hall proudly holds the distinct honor of being the oldest Grange Hall in continuous use in America. Built in 1873 on land donated by Bennett Valley resident John Hughes, the hall was dedicated in a celebration on December 4, 1873.
