PG&E agrees to offer new outage updates for Bennett Valley
July 2026
Great news: PG&E has agreed to give the BVCA more detailed info for any future power outages lasting longer than 30 minutes. They will follow up with a post-outage investigation update, including details on what occurred and the steps they’re taking to address the issue. Depending on the nature of the outage, this information may take a few days to finalize and share.
They also offered to provide updates at both the beginning and the end of the EPSS (Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings) season. PG&E will provide a communication summarizing any changes and the context behind those adjustments. This will also serve as a useful reminder of when we enter the higher risk wildfire season.
2026 has already experienced more outages lasting longer than 30 minutes than the previous past few years. So we reached out last month and they were kind enough to listen and agree to these recommendations we requested. The BVCA will share these updates with you here in the newsletter and on bennettvalley.org. It's easy to feel frustrated with outages out here in the countryside, but we appreciate PG&E responding to us, listening, and being proactive.
Please be sure to forward this email to your neighbors and encourage them to subscribe to this newsletter so they can also receive these important updates.
