Bennett Valley Panorama by Jim Codington
by A passionate observer
You have seen his wonderful photography on social media and around the internet—come meet the artist in person! Jim Codington, our own local world traveler, artist, photographer and veterinarian, will be giving a slide presentation of his work at the Bennett Valley Grange Hall on March 13 at 6:30 pm, immediately following the 5:30 BVCA Board meeting . All are welcome to attend both events.
Jim Codington, a 15+ year BV resident, lives on Sonoma Mountain and enjoys a commanding view of all of Bennett Valley--and he has harnessed the wonders of that vista in a most engaging way, in his unique approach to photography using drones and technical processing that inspires a deeply resonant experience of the place where we live.
I first became aware of Jim in 2023, when I saw his amazing photos of Bennett Valley on our BV NextDoor site, and immediately contacted him for an interview. His evocative photographic landscapes (especially Bennett Valley in her many moods), animal subjects and world cultures reveal his compassionate eye and creative mind.
Jim has just published a book of select works, Whispers in the Wild, and will be signing copies to follow the presentation. Books are sixty dollars, and all proceeds are donated to Cheetah Conservation Botswana.
We are very fortunate to have him with us in between his travels--please join us.
